The STARNET (Stockholm-Tartu Atherosclerosis Reverse Networks Engineering Task) study aims to characterize tissue gene expression from patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) matched to patients without CAD. RNA-seq data and analysis is carried out for 7 tissues: blood, free internal mammary artery (MAM), atherosclerotic aortic root (AOR), subcutaneous fat (SF), visceral abdominal fat (VAF), skeletal muscle (SKLM), and liver (LIV). Based on SNP array genotyping, tissue expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) are detected and used to assess CAD heritability (H2). These data are used to infer co-expression networks, gene regulatory networks, a supernetwork capturing multiple scales of disease progression, and endocrine candidates explaining cross-tissue co-expression. This browser provides methods to query and explore these data.
